Easy Listening at CafÄ— Sky

Easy-Listening-Cafe-Sky-Ambient-MusicEasy listening background ambient music. Gently, dreamy, drifting piano, electric piano and orchestral melodies with subtle pulse beats. Ideal for cafe’s, spas, massage therapies and relaxation at home.

The album is a somewhat eclectic mixture, introduced by a jazzy sounding, atmospheric elevator composition. Track two is a powerful chill-out tour-de-force, track 3 a bubbly electronica piece. Cafe Sky then unwinds with orchestral compositions with ambient pads over gently pulsating bass and beats behind occasional piano melodies.

Ambient Ocean
features an alternative version
of track 5, Dolphin play, with ocean sounds.

Notes by the composer

Being Ambient Music composer Johann Kotze wanted to produce an easy listening album for Being Music after producing a number of ambient/meditative albums. Like many music lovers he feels far too little original background music is heard in public spaces. “Despite the efforts of labels like Windham Hill and artists like David Arkenstone who produces many wonderful albums ideal for inoffensive easy listening, high quality is not often heard in waiting rooms, restaurants and malls”, says Johann.

Johann also commented in retrospect “Sky Cafe ” contains elements of the classic Arkenstone sound, and that “Clear skies” for example sounds like a simplified version of a Jean Michel Jarre piece. “I never intentionally copy another artist, nor do I intentionally strive for individuality. I sit down, compose and record a new piece according to the kind of album that I decide to make at the time, or the mood at the time”
