Being Ambient Music is produced by Johann Kotze. He has been teaching yoga since 1990, hense the a.k.a. PRANA on some albums. Johann lives in Muizenberg, Cape Town, South Africa and has been involved with yoga and music as a teacher, musician, producer and events producer since 1990. He surfs, loves nature and his quest for well-being is much influenced by yogic philosophy and it's lifestyle principles. He also works as a well-being consultant and published his book, the Five Keys to Well-being, in 2006.
With considerable experience in journalism, music retail and as founding co-owner of an independent label in the early days of CD in South Africa his influences ranges from a childhood of reading and listening to music and the outdoors and surfing. His productions and recordings included poetry, classical-, blues- and rock, and Johann composed, performed and recorded his own music in these genres before developing an interest in ambient music that he discovered via the Cafe del Mar and Buddha Bar series. His first ambient music release for Being Ambient Music was in 2008. Johann contributes all the content for his website, beingambientmusic.com

The yogic inspiration behind of this site.
Being Yoga is Johann;s brand of yoga (studio's and teaching philosphy) based on classic yogic philosophy
Johann has been teaching and studying Yoga since 1990, establishing a personal interpretation of the universal values of the classic yogic metaphysics and physical practices as a means to achieve well-being and self-realization. Trained in classic ("Integral Yoga") Sivananda his style combines well with all aspects of holistic living, and allows yoga to be "a gateway to a healthy lifestyle that can be achieved by any individual. Yoga is really not about the difficult stuff, the intricate and strong poses, but about finding ways for it to serve the health of the individual practitioner".
"Yoga can be made accessible and challenging to all ages and body types, regardless of ability or
disability, prior yoga experience, or a specific interest or lack of interest in spiritual matters".
The Five Keys to Well-being technique is based on good posture, effective breathing, mobility, stress management and lifestyle Body-Mind-Spirit integration.
The practical and spiritual well-being inspiration behind the non-music content of this site.
Working as a well-being consultant and Yoga teacher to a general public has helped to incorporate the gifts and insights of Yoga into techniques that are accessible to all. These influences has shaped Johann's ideas around music. A Being vision
"An ideal world transcends boundaries between business and the healing and creative arts and it's many genres. The integration of consciousness with physical well-being allows personal well-being to sustainably feed families and economies".

p.s. Bless you for sharing :-)
"Winter's light" - the piano drops sounds magical, like waterdrops from melting ice in the winter silence and sunlight
... icy piano sound. The light feels nice on the skin, but also in the eyes, when the light plays on the water or through the green...

I have been using your CD’s on my courses and have found it very excellent.
Seems to keep people in Alpha and is very “neutral” and excellent in the background when people are meditating.
You must be the most incredibly attuned, creative person.

Lose yourself in this music. Johann Kotze has refined and improved his music over the course of three albums and while the refinement of his distinctive style is obvious, he still manages to surprise one with the innovative, fresh sound in this album. Originality, attention to detail and the subtle but distinct African nuances in this song (New beginnings, Zen Heart Mix) will make you reach for the repeat button.
